MIU aims to make higher education accessible in regions facing market volatility, weak institutions, conflict, and ecological challenges. Technology barriers persist, but online education via electronic devices helps overcome many obstacles. MIU is dedicated to employing highly qualified professors and teaching assistants worldwide to reach students in remote areas, thereby promoting and supporting access to higher education through increased technology use.

MIU has developed our programmes to assist our students to explore topics that have the potential to solve critical issues on a global scale, as well as to provide practical skillsets that will assist them with finding meaningful employment.

MIU students engage with expert academics passionate about making impactful changes both locally and internationally. Our courses blend academic theory with practical applications, focusing on real-world issues, particularly in students' communities. All MIU courses emphasize community engagement, offering students a choice of blended learning, partnership-based education, or online learning. Regardless of the chosen method, students receive the necessary tools and resources to positively impact their communities and the world, whether through business, policy, programs, activism, or other avenues.
Our goal is to continually enhance access to higher education by providing affordable, high-quality courses that lead to employment opportunities, enabling our students to contribute positively to their local and broader communities.
While online distance learning faces challenges like technological access, advancements, especially mobile technology, help mitigate these barriers. We ensure that highly qualified professors and teaching assistants worldwide connect with students in remote and hard-to-reach areas, using technology to facilitate learning for those who desire it.
Additionally, we strive to make funding accessible for prospective students; many of our diploma programs are tuition-free, requiring only a small enrolment fee adjusted to local economic conditions.

The James Holmes School of Public Policy and Global Affairs has a direct focus on training students with a passion for human rights and minority rights, and working towards contributing to sustainable peace within their communities.
MIU is proud to have partnered with the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE) to deliver a range of degree and certificate programmes. We are passionate about training the ambitious and capable future leaders in practices that address the causes of conflict and inequality worldwide.
